Developing a canvas app can be one of the best ways to increase productivity and efficiency within your business. It can also be counter-intuitive, especially if you come from a traditional coding/development background. Microsoft has done a lot of the work for you behind the scenes, so we sometimes end up doing more than we have to.

Why worry about these things? If you’re going to spend the resources on developing an app, you want people to use it. At CongruentX, we focus on adoption just as must as the products/apps themselves.

Performance, user experience, and what I’ll call the “cool” factor all contribute to adoption. Users will refuse to use an app if it’s slow and makes their job harder. If your app needs to be accompanied with hours of training, chances are it’s too complicated. We live in a world where people use apps every single day. Whether it’s fair or not, they expect apps at work should be just as easy to use as the apps they use at home. The “cool” factor is what really drives home adoption. If you can make an app that is fun to use, employees will not only use it – they’ll tell their coworkers THEY should use it too.

All that said, here’s a few tips that will help you become a Power Apps pro!
